AAPS 2023: interviews from the floor with Priya Muralidharan


During the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) PharmSci 360 2023 conference, Bioanalysis Zone caught up with industry experts across numerous disciplines to discuss their involvement with AAPS and their research. In this interview, we spoke to Associate Principal Scientist and 2023 Chair of the Women in Pharmaceutical Sciences Community, Priya Muralidharan, about the challenges women in scientific roles experience when trying to achieve work-life balance and the tools available to help maintain this balance.

Priya Muralidharan received Masters in Pharmaceutical Engineering degree from New Jersey Institute of Technology and Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Arizona (both US). Priya is experienced in the formulation and product development of small molecules and biologics for inhalation and parenteral delivery. Currently, she works as an Associate Principal Scientist at AstraZeneca leading innovative product/process development. Priya led the AAPS Women in Pharmaceutical Sciences Community as Chair in 2023. She has a significant publication record and serves as a peer-reviewer for leading pharmaceutical journals. During her free time, Priya enjoys dancing, biking, playing sports/board games and completely adores the time she spends with her family
