Toxicology
Toxicology refers to the study of how chemicals interfere with the normal function of a biological system. It enables the evaluation of risks posed by the introduction of a drug. Through toxicological studies, scientists can predict what and how chemicals may cause harm. The dose of the substance is an important factor in toxicology and heavily relates to the effects experienced. All substances have the potential to have a toxic effect on humans and other organisms under specific conditions, particular doses or concentrations.
