Leading expert appointed as Senior Editor of Bioanalysis
Bioanalysis, the international journal, is delighted to announce the appointment of Neil Spooner (GlaxoSmithKline, UK) as a Senior Editor. He replaces Howard Hill (Huntingdon Life Sciences, UK) who is retiring after 5 years’ highly valued service. Dr Spooner joins US-based Senior Editor Brian Booth (US FDA, MD, USA).
Dr Hill commented, “I feel proud to have been associated with the journal from its inception and through its early years and I wish all involved in Bioanalysis and bioanalysis success in the future. Neil has been an active member of the journal‘s editorial board since the launch. I wish him great success and I know he has lots of new ideas.”
Launched in 2009, Bioanalysis has established itself as a leading publication in the field. Dr Hill talks about this development in his article ‘The first 5 years of Bioanalysis: a story of growth and evolution’, published in the December 2013 issue. Since its launch, the journal has increased frequency and has risen to 15/75 Chemistry and Medical journals with an impact factor of 3.253 in 2012.
Dr Spooner commented on his new role, “I am very honored and thrilled to be offered this opportunity. Following on from Howard Hill is a big ask. I am particularly looking forward to making a contribution to the future development of what has become the ‘house journal’ for the bioanalytical community and helping to ensure that it is filled with relevant and high quality science, commentary and updates. This is an exciting time for the field of bioanalysis, with many opportunities and challenges for us all, and I look forward to them being played out on the pages of this excellent journal.”
