Poster: Development & Validation of a Direct Method for Quantification of DNA in Digested Tissue Samples (KCAS)
Previously published methods of DNA quantification in tissue have employed homogenization/digestion of tissue followed by purification of DNA using silica-based minicolumns prior to assay. A direct method by McGowan KB et al. (Osteoarthritis & Cartilage 2002, 10:580-587) calls for subtraction of intrinsic tissue fluorescence which reduces the sample analysis capacity per plate by half. Method presented here implemented direct quantification of DNA in tissue samples without further purification or background fluorescence subtraction, and without reduction in sample analysis capacity.
